AI Mole Screening (ABCDE)

An informational screening based on the ABCDE algorithm, validated by our medical team.

Your image is analyzed by AI then deleted within seconds. No storage on MMPA's side.

This analysis does not replace a medical examination. Estimated sensitivity 91-95%, specificity 86-89%. A lesion may be cancerous even with a low score. Consult if in doubt.

Understanding the ABCDE algorithm

  • A — Asymmetry
One half does not match the other.
  • B — Border
    Irregular, ragged or blurred edges.
  • C — Color
Multiple colors: black, brown, blue-gray, red or white.
  • D — Diameter
    Greater than 6 mm.
  • E — Evolution
Change in size, shape, color or new symptoms.

When to consult without delay

  • Rapid change (weeks)
  • Bleeding, crust or persistent itching
  • Lesion that looks unlike the others (ugly duckling)
  • New pigmented lesion appearing after age 40

FAQ

Does this tool make a diagnosis?

No. It is a guidance tool. Only a doctor can make a diagnosis after clinical and, if needed, dermoscopic examination.

Are my photos stored?

No. The image is sent to our AI provider, analyzed, then deleted. No copy is kept by MMPA.

How reliable is it?

Modern visual AI models show 91-95% sensitivity and 86-89% specificity on quality images (Esteva 2017, Liu 2020). A lesion can remain concerning despite a low score.

When should I consult immediately?

Rapid change (size, color, shape), bleeding, persistent itching, or a new suspicious lesion in adults.
