About the PHQ-9

The PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire-9) is an international reference tool developed by Kroenke, Spitzer and Williams (J Gen Intern Med 2001;16:606-613). It is widely used in primary care for depression screening. This tool is anonymous: no answers are stored.

Is PHQ-9 a diagnosis?

No. It is a scientifically validated screening tool (Kroenke 2001) that helps assess the severity of depressive symptoms. Only a doctor can make a diagnosis.

Are my answers stored?

No. Everything stays in your browser and is erased when you close the tab. No data is sent to a server.

How often can I take it?

PHQ-9 evaluates the last 2 weeks. You may repeat it every 2 weeks to track changes.
